Parents have paid tribute to a young man killed in a road crash.

Kailen Spreadbury, 20, died in a collision on Saturday in Great Baddow.

His parents said: "Kailen was born in Chelmsford, went to Baddow High School and then to Dovedale College, where he studied Sports Science.

"Kailen was a gifted sportsman excelling at football, golf and tennis.

"At 6 ½ years he was spotted by a scout from West Ham FC and enrolled into their School of Excellence.

"He then went to Chelsea FC until he was 14 and at 16 played for Gt Baddow FC.

"At 18 he worked for Forefront Utilities and he was a member of Faraday Lodge in London."

His father, Warren, said: "He wasn’t only my son, he was my best mate also.

"He was proud to be a father to his 9-month-old son, and was devoted to his partner.”

His mother, Karen, said: "He was hated by none, he was loved by all, and envied by a few, and will be remembered for being awesome”.

Kailen also leaves a brother and sister.
