Mums have lost their fight against children’s centre cuts.
Opening hours at Dengie Children’s Centre, based at Burnham’s Ormiston Rivers Academy, will be cut from 41 a week to ten.
Yellow Brick Road Children’s Centre, at Great Totham Primary School, will see its hours plummet from 40 to five.
But Maldon Children’s Centre, at the town’s library, will have its increased from 38 to 40.
Staff will also be available by phone for an extra ten hours.
Chetwood Children’s Centre, South Woodham Ferrers, will see its current 41.5 hours changed to 40 but with an extra ten hours telephone service.
It is part of Essex County Council’s plans to trim £2.5million from its children’s centre budget between now and 2016.
