More than 100 people have joined an action group to fight development in a village.
Committee members of the Mayland Action Group set up a public meeting at Lawling Park Hall in Katonia Avenue, Mayland, last week to recruit members at a fee of £5 per household.
The group intends to launch a petition against Hedgehog Development’s designs for 115 to 150 houses on land at Nipsells Farm, of Nipsells Chase in Mayland.
It will be sent to Maldon District Council.
Committee member Paul Fileman, 45, of Orchard Drive, Mayland, said the public meeting attracted hundreds of people.
