Many of the 3,000 or so photos and drawings at The Maldon Society’s display area, in the Maeldune Heritage Centre, have been provided by members of the public.

The society has spent the last two years enlarging the display area, thanks to donations from two former members, Freda Mahood and the late Jean Barwell.

Visitors can now see the archive displayed on a wide-screen colour monitor.

Anyone who has photographs or artwork can email laburnum@btinternet.com or maldonso@maldonsoc.org

Maeldune Heritage Centre is at the junction of Market Hill and Maldon High Street.

Opening hours for February are 10am-4pm Thursday to Saturday.
