Stolen street sign stirs anger among residents

Maldon and Burnham Standard: Paul Parker and what remains of the posts that held up the sign Paul Parker and what remains of the posts that held up the sign

Residents are fuming thieves have stolen their road sign for a second time.

Neighbours in Volwycke Avenue, Maldon, pay for the maintenance of the close because it was never adopted by the county council.

The street sign was ripped off overnight on January 24.

Paul Parker, chairman of the residents' committee, said: "It is a private road, we pay for everything on it, so this is very annoying."
