A village's youth club is experiencing a new lease of life just months after it faced the axe.
Wendy Morris, who runs the Southminster youth club at King George VI Playing Field in Station Road, is celebrating renewed interested in the facility after parish councillors were considering its future last year.
The mum-of-two, who has ran the club for eight years, often opened the club on Wednesday’s last year and not one child would turn up.
She said: “It looked like closure was on the cards between June and October last year as we were only getting one or two through the door."
