A woman has died after falling from a bridge.

Anne Williams, 49, of The Leas, Burnham, was found beneath the Orwell Bridge in Ipswich at 1.20pm on January 23.

A member of the public had reported someone jumping from the bridge.

Police officers and the coastguard were alerted and searched the area before discovering Anne Williams' body.

Her car was discovered nearby.

Her cause of death was recorded as multiple injuries consistent with a fall from a height.

The fall from the bridge is over 40 metres.

An inquest into her death is due to open today at Ipswich Coroners Court.
