Women rugby players have gone teetotal for charity.

The four current and two former members of Burnham Ladies are taking part in the Cancer Research UK Dryathlon.

So far they have raised nearly £800 from shunning booze in January.

Taking part are rugby players Ali Kirkham, 32, and Shelley Haydon, 25, of Coronation Road, Burnham; Hazel Gillet, of Southminster; Zoe Starks of Crouch Road, Burnham; and former club members Teresa Barr of Albert Road, Burnham and Dawn Smith of Bramble Terrace, Burnham.
