An 81-year-old Burnham man has been stopped from driving after he was involved in a collision with a cyclist in Althorne.
Officers were called by the ambulance service after the collision at Burnham Road on January 2 at around 4.45pm.
The 64-year-old cyclist from Burnham was in hospital for eight days with head and ankle injuries after he was involved in a collision with a silver Citroen C5 car.
The car driver was uninjured.
He subsequently failed the standard eye sight test and his entitlement to drive has been removed by police and a report has been submitted to the DVLA.
The test requires drivers to read a standard number plate from a distance of 20.5 metres.
It is a road traffic offence to be unable to read a number plate in good daylight from this distance.
