Villagers should be compensated for the storage of nuclear waste from Kent in Bradwell, say council officers.
The waste from Dungeness power station will be transported to Bradwell power station, where it will take up 29% of the space in the storage building, under proposals by the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA).
Maldon District Council remains against the importing of nuclear waste to Bradwell.
Officers said the community must be adequately compensated.
The planning and licensing committee are due to discuss the council's response to a public consultation on the plans for Bradwell tonight.
Residents can comment on the plans until January 31.
