Signs emphasising a village’s speed will be introduced after parked cars were written off.
Tillingham parish councillors wanted road markings reinforcing the 30mph speed limit to be painted at the entrances to the village to slow people down.
Parish councillor Ray Keane, a builder, called for the signs over concerns that a serious accident may occur because of speeding cars.
He said: “We have a situation in the village where speeding happens a lot and it has got to be stopped.
“We have asked for the 30mph signs just to really tell people to slow down.
“Personally I would like the village to be policed a lot more, police presence is virtually non-existent in the village."
