A couple celebrated New Year’s Day with the arrival of their son.
Charlie William Wheeler was born at 4.13pm to proud parents Claire Oldham, 38, and Scott Wheeler, 35.
Claire, a kitchen assistant at Ormiston Rivers Academy in Burnham, began feeling contractions on New Year’s Eve - a week after she was due to give birth.
Miss Oldham, who is also mum to daughter Talia, 13, and son Mason, 11, did not manage to sleep and arrived at St Peter’s Hospital in Spital Road, Maldon at 9am the next day.
After a seven-hour labour Charlie was born weighing 6lb 13oz.
