Plans for future housing, employment and shops have passed another hurdle, after only one councillor voted against them.
The draft Local Development Plan, setting out the sites for 4,410 homes mostly concentrated in Maldon, Heybridge and Burnham, was approved by district councillors to go to the next stage of public consultation, starting next month.
They also signed off an extra 335 homes in north Heybridge, taking the total to 1,235, while south Maldon was reduced from 1,710 to 1,375.
