Heating should finally be restored at a school tomorrow, three months after the boiler was damaged by flooding.
Parents claim children and staff at Maldon Primary School, in Wantz Chase, have spent weeks in cold classrooms after Essex County Council’s delays in arranging for the boiler to be replaced.
It was damaged during flooding in early September.
The school has battled on with noisy and often ineffective plug in-heaters for about the last month, but was forced to close for two days.
A County Hall spokesman said: “It is important to ensure that any new replacement equipment is procured correctly to protect the school and the council.
"This unfortunately can take time as competitive quotes need to be sought to ensure we achieve value for money."
