Maldon: 'At risk' church in Great Totham restored to former glory
A 13th century church is no longer considered to be a building at risk.
St Peter’s Church in Church Road, Great Totham, has been removed from this year’s Heritage at Risk register, compiled by English Heritage, after it was renovated thanks to a grant by English Heritage and Heritage Lottery Fund.
The church was handed the grant in 2011, which allowed builders to restore its centuries old roof by replacing roof tiles, restoring shingles to the bell tower and spire, as well as carpentry repairs.
