Maldon: Plume School reaches out to help poor
Plume School has donated equipment to a Zambian school to give poor children a better chance in life.
Some 120 chairs, 74 desks and one table mover, which were not used after the refurbishment of the Mill Road campus, were donated to a new school in Kapiri Mposhi in Zambia.
The equipment was shipped to Zambia last month and will be used in the new Vinjeru School building, which will be ready for pupils in January.
Since then the Maldon pupils have received a letter of thanks, which reads: “These items will be instrumental in giving some of the poorest children in the country a chance in life.”
