Maldon: Mum's home 'overrun' by venomous false widow spiders
A Maldon mum’s home is being overrun by venomous spiders.
Mum-of-three Sue Wyllie, of Brooke Square, has spotted seven poisonous false widow spiders - the most dangerous spider in Britain - crawling on her landing, in her washing basket and even on her son’s door handle in recent weeks.
Although her family has never been bitten, Ms Wyllie fears it is only a matter of time before they are.
The lifestyle manager said: “I see the spiders mostly around my landing, I think they are coming through my loft hatch.
“I am worried about my children’s safety. One was on my son’s door handle, he could easily have grabbed it.”
