South Woodham Ferrers: Inquest opened following teenager's death

An inquest has been opened into a teenager's death in a road crash.
William Andrews, 18, of Shirebourn Vale, South Woodham Ferrers, died on Saturday when the van he was a passenger in crashed into a tree in Leighams Road, Bicknacre.
The inquest, opened today, heard the provisional cause of William's death was multiple injuries.
The hearing has been adjourned to a later date.
William was one of four people in thewhite Ford Escort van.
One man was taken to hospital and two others were treated for minor injuries.
A 21-year-old man from the Chelmsford area was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving whilst unfit through drink or drugs.
He was released on bail until Thursday.
