Maldon: Museum recognised for conservation work

Museum staff and volunteers have been recognised for their conservation work.
The Institution of Mechanical Engineers gave engineering heritage listed status to the Museum of Power in Langford for its triple expansion steam engine.
The 1930 pumping engine, part of a former pumping station that supplied water to Southend, ceased operation in the 1960s.
John Wood, chairman of the awards committee, said: “This award recognises the contribution that the staff and volunteers have made in preserving part of Britain’s heritage for future generations to enjoy.
