Maldon: Flooding forces day hospice to shut
11:00am Friday 30th August 2013 in News
A day hospice has temporarily closed due to flooding following Saturday's torrential rainfall.
Farleigh Hospice’s Day Hospice at the Bentalls Complex, in Heybridge, has had to cancel patient attendance until contingency plans are put in place.
Staff are looking to re-locate services and will publicise information as available.
All other services continue to run as normal.
Head of patient care, Ann Smits, said the hospice had suffered a lot of water damage.
"As a result, it is likely that all soft furnishings and carpets will have to be replaced, along with things like special patient recliner chairs, footstools, cupboards and bookcases," she said.
Patients or carers who have any concerns should contact their key worker, or the Farleigh Hospice Triage number on 01245 455478.
