Purleigh: 230 pack church for pig farmer funeral

A church was packed with 230 mourners for the funeral of a former pig farmer and parish councillor.
Brian Martin Kevin Ascott , better known as Kevin, had been involved in various activities, belonged to many groups and served on committees and councils.
He retired from Purleigh Parish Council in December last year due to ill health, at that time he was the vice-chairman.
He was elected to the council in 1983 and rarely missed a meeting.
