Maldon: Car thieves have left me frightened in my own home Maldon: Car thieves have left me frightened in my own home

A widow feels “frightened” in her own home amid claims her road is being plagued by vehicle-related thefts.

Sabrina Riesebeck believes nearly every household in Mundon Road, Maldon, has either had a car stolen or broken into since the street lights were turned off in 2007, plunging the neighbourhood into darkness.

Last Monday, Mrs Riesebeck’s dad came to visit her when her son was poorly and his S-reg green Nissan Cabstar was stolen from her driveway overnight.

Mrs Riesebeck’s car and her neighbour’s car were both broken into last year.

If you witnessed any suspicious activity on the night the truck was stolen that may help with the investigation, call the police on 101.

A police spokesman said officers had not noticed any particular issues relating to car crime in Mundon Road, but encouraged residents to remain vigilant for any suspicious activity.
