Maldon: Gun terror in town UPDATE

Police are investigating an allegation that a gun was  aimed at a woman in Maldon 

A woman told police that someone pointed a gun at her from a car window as the vehicle passed through Market Hill at 12.30pm on Sunday.

The weapon appeared to be a handgun, according to the victim.

Police immediately searched the area for the green estate car and are currently appealing for any information.

Inspector Chris Kilgallen said: “Whilst the driver of the car had what appeared to be a gun he did not make any threat or say anything.

"We do not know if this was a real weapon or just a prank.
 

“We take all search incidents seriously and appeal for anyone with any information to come forward."
