Maldon: Sporty school bucks national trend Maldon: Sporty school bucks national trend

Maldon children are bucking the national trend when it comes to exercise.

Education watchdog Ofsted recently said that not enough PE lessons were up to standard when it comes to physical activity.

But this does not appear to the case for youngsters at Maldon Primary School, who receive are almost two hours of PE a week.

“Our children do enjoy being physically active,” said inclusion manager Shelley Clark.

“We do one indoor session a week, which lasts for about 40 minutes, and one outdoor session a week which lasts for an hour.”

The school brings in specialist sports instructors to deal with the outdoor sessions to make sure their children are being challenged enough in lessons.
