Maldon district: Complaints over dog-fouling up by half, says report

The number of complaints made to the council about dog mess in the district has shot up by half since the last quarter.

Maldon District Council recorded 27 complaints about dog fouling in quarter three, an increase from 18 complaints in the last quarter.

Nine fixed penalty notices were issued.

The report for the review of performance states: “Monitoring is undertaken to ensure that, where the complaint is justified, that action has been taken to address the cause of the complaint.”

Some 27 complaints were received relating to litter on public land and two fixed penalty notices were issued.
