A woman driver was lucky to walk away unscathed after her car ended up on its roof in a ditch.

Fire crews from Tillingham and Burnham were called to the scene shortly before 4.30pm yesterday in Bradwell Road, St Lawrence.

They made sure the red Peugeot 306 was not causing a hazard to other road users.

An Essex Police spokesman said: “The owner arranged her own recovery of the vehicle and she doesn’t appear to have suffered any injuries.”

An ambulance service spokesman said: “We had a rapid responder on scene.
“The only suspected casualty was a woman, who was unharmed and didn’t require hospital treatment.”
