Maldon: Town to once again smell the coffee?
A coffee shop is set to be brought back to life.
Yvette Jiggins is hoping to re-open a coffee shop at the premises in Edwards Walk, Maldon, after the previous business ceased trading on October 18 last year.
For the last few years there was a coffee shop, adjoining card shop and gift shop at units two to four in Edwards Walk.
Mrs Jiggins wants to continue running unit two as a coffee shop in a similar manner to the previous business with a similar menu choice.
In the two upstairs rooms, she plans to install a kitchen and carry out cupcake classes.
In her planning application, she said she believed her proposal would “make a strong contribution to the vitality of Edwards Walk and to the town centre”.
