Burnham: School has made enormous progress, says head
A head teacher claims her school is "on track" to claim a "good" rating, after Ofsted inspectors called for improvement.
Burnham Primary School, in Dunkirk Road, was told it “required improvement” in all four areas following a visit by Ofsted inspectors in December.
Inspectors said the achievement of pupils, quality of teaching, behaviour and safety of pupils and leadership and management all need improving.
Head teacher Nicky Patrick said staff were already working hard to improve the areas concerned.
She said: “We are disappointed that Ofsted did not yet feel we were ready to be judged as a 'good' school but delighted that they did recognise the enormous progress that has been secured by the drive and commitment of senior leaders supported by the governing body.
“The areas for improvement identified in the report are all areas that we were already working hard to improve and we remain determined and focussed and are confident that we are on track to secure the improvements that will make us a 'good' school by our next inspection.”
