Maldon district: It's time to fix our roads

Maldon's motorists are facing a plague of potholes this winter - with seven huge cracks spotted on just two roads in the Dengie.

Last year’s record-breaking wet weather has ripped up the district’s roads, causing residents to pay hundreds of pounds for the damage to their cars.

Between Mundon Road in Maldon and Maldon Road in Latchingdon, numerous potholes were discovered, causing cars to swerve out of the way to avoid damage.

Carol-Anne Neale, 36, of Coombe Road, Southminster, spent £165 on a new tyre after her car hit a pothole in Burnham Road.

She said: “There have been quite a few on that road recently but the major ones have been filled in now.”
