Police have released an efit of a man suspected of sexually assaulting a woman after all other enquiries to trace him have proved fruitless.

A woman was assaulted while at a grassy area near Clifton Terrace, Southend, at around 12.30am on October 10, 2012.

Extensive enquiries have been carried out by detectives since the incident to trace the man responsible, including with local homeless shelters, but so far there have been no arrests.

DI Mark Tyler said: "It is thought the man frequents local night shelters, however so far we have been unable to establish any further details about him.”

The woman victim, aged in her 20s from Southend, had been in The Last Post in Weston Road, Southend, and left at closing time. She walked with the suspect and was then assaulted near Clifton Terrace.

 

The man is described as white with mousey brown hair and is aged somewhere between 21 and 40-years-old. He is 5ft 8ins to 6ft tall, of stocky build and has a pierced right ear.

At the time of the incident he wore a pink McKenzie polo shirt with 1974 printed on it, light coloured chino trousers, white trainers and was carrying a JD Sports bag with a Union Jack design. He carried this on his left side.
