Detectives are continuing to appeal for witnesses after at least four vehicles were hit by bricks thrown from a bridge over the M25 at Waltham Abbey.

Police were called at about 6.25pm on Tuesday, January 1, after drivers reported windscreen damage to two heavy goods vehicles and a recovery truck.

The cab roof of a second recovery truck was also hit and was slightly damaged.

There were no injuries.

Detectives believe that other vehicles were struck but drivers might not have been aware of the incidents, which happened near a footbridge close to Lodge Lane.

Any witnesses or anyone with information should contact detectives at Loughton CID on 101.

Five 13-year-old boys, all from Waltham Abbey, who were arrested on suspicion of causing criminal damage with intent to endanger life, have been bailed until February 22 and 23 pending further enquiries.
