Maldon: Auctioneers uncovered town's treasures
Auctioneers uncovered some treasures when they visited Maldon in an Antiques Roadshow themed event.
Colchester-based Reeman Dansie Auctioneers visited Maldon Town Hall on Saturday for a fundraising valuation day in aid of Farleigh Hospice.
The most impressive item of the day was a gold Victorian £5 coin, which was valued at £800-£1,000.
The person who brought it in said it had been passed down through their family, but until Saturday they had had no idea of its value.
