A procession of taxis travelled through Maldon’s High Street in memory of a much-loved taxi driver.

Michael Bishop, 69, died from liver cancer on October 11 - just one year away from retirement.

Before his funeral at Chelmsford Crematorium on Friday, the family took Michael, known as Mick, on his last trip to his taxi rank in the High Street.

Taxi drivers from companies across the district lined up behind the car to pay their last respects to the man who served the district for more than two decades.
