Tollesbury: Club in urgent need of volunteers

Tollesbury: Club in urgent need of volunteers Tollesbury: Club in urgent need of volunteers

A club for the elderly is desperately appealing for volunteers to ensure its survival.

The WRVS Tollesbury Day Centre Luncheon Club is urgently in need of more assistance is a range of areas.

The club meets at the Parish Rooms, Church Street, between 9am and 1pm on Tuesdays.

It needs volunteers to help with general duties at the centre and in the kitchen.
The club is also appealing for volunteer drivers, who would be needed on a rotational basis.

These drivers would be particularly vital for return lifts in the Tolleshunt D’Arcy area.

Volunteer Judy Crees said: “This volunteer service does not want to stop running this excellent facility for the older members in Tollesbury and surrounding villages as for a majority of people it is their lifeline.”

Originally founded in 1938 as the Women’s Voluntary Services for Air Raid Precautions, WRVS celebrates its 75th anniversary next year.

If you can help, call Judy on 01621 869730.
