Maldon's young farmers have raised £4,500 for a Colchester stroke unit.
Maldon Young Farmers Club (YFC) presented the cheque to the unit after a 26-year-old Tollesbury farmer was cared for there.
Angus Williams, of Garlands Farm, Tollesbury, suffered a brain haemorrhage at home on 23 July last year and is now on the road to recovery.
He spent a total of 13 months at hospital - eight months in Colchester General Hospital and three months at the stroke unit.
He presented the cheque with other young farmers at the Blue Boar Hotel in Silver Street.
Angus said: “I have received so much support from the Stroke Unit and I am really glad that the Young Farmers were able to show their appreciation by raising so much money.”
