Mayor looking to experienced colleagues for help

MAYOR of Maldon David Denyer is looking for help to do the best he can for the town.

The recently elected mayor, who posed for the Standard in all his regalia, is looking forward to the role but wants to use the experience and expertise of past mayors to help.

He said: "I have a lot of hard work to do and I will be looking for support from some of the previous mayors."

And one former mayor, Sharon Riesebeck, said: "You've got it David, whenever you want it."

His first official role was as chairman of the annual general meeting of Maldon's twinning association, held on Wednesday May 14, just two days into the role.

This one just keeps getting better and better, I love it.

Only in Maldon could we have a new Mayor who admits he's not up to the task he's put him self forward for and is asking for help from the last lot of cronies within a week.

Priceless, that'll keep me smiling all week. :-)
