Rugby club awards a success
A SUCCESSFUL year for Burnham on Crouch Rugby Club culminated in two enjoyable awards evenings and some very special mementos.
The first, for the youth teams, included a double presentation involving Burnham's U-16 England international Jamie Bache.
First Jamie presented the club with a framed England shirt worn by him during the four nations in France, which will be displayed at the clubhouse.
Then the club presented a unique shirt, designed and signed by regular England captain Phil Vickery, which was half Burnham rugby and half England rugby colours, to Jamie.
Club chairman Steve White also presented various awards for exceptional achievement in each age group, county selection and every youth player received a personal medal.
Angela Mahoney, youth chair, said: "Turnout was fantastic with most parents attending to see their offspring receive their awards."
Next it was the turn of the senior team who enjoyed the annual dinner dance at the Royal Corinthian Yacht Club, Burnham.
Anyone who is interested in joining the club next season can call 01621 785217.
