Linen catches fire at dry cleaners
FIREFIGHTERS were called to deal with a fire at a dry cleaners after linen caught light.
Crews from Maldon responded to the call at about 7pm on Wednesday May 7 at Classic Dry Cleaners, High Street, Maldon.
Using breathing apparatus and a hose reel jet the firefighters were able to extinguish the flames after about 30 minutes.
Maldon firefighter Martin Cable said: "It was a small fire and nobody was injured. It is not being treated as suspicious."
About a quarter of the shop, measuring 10 metres by 15 metres, was on fire by the time the crews arrived.
More fire crews from Witham were on standby but were not needed.
