COMEDIAN Seann Walsh told the Weekly News he is hoping he can remember his lines when he hits the Civic Theatre stage next month.

The 27-year-old will bring his Lie-In King show from last year’s Edinburgh Festival and ended up being nominated for the Fringe’s main prize to Chelmsford on Thursday March 13.

Walsh said the main theme behind the show looks at trying to grow up with the focus on moving from his hometown Brighton to the bright lights of London.

However, he admitted the first few dates of his UK tour saw him searching his memory for lines.

“The tour started off with a week of shows in Soho and it took me a few nights to remember the show again,” Walsh told the Weekly News.

“The problem is I haven’t really touched it since Edinburgh and none of it is written down, but after a while it started to fall back into place.”

His performance at the Fairfield Road venue will not be the first time Walsh has gigged in the city having previously appeared on the bill for nights organised by Comedy Showcase.

But just like his lines, Walsh comically admitted his mind drew a blank when it comes to thinking back to his previous Chelmsford visits.

He said: “I honestly cannot remember any of my previous shows or Chelmsford itself.

“I struggle to remember any details of places I’ve performed at before to be honest.

“I have heard of Chelmsford so if I was asked whether it existed or not, I would say it did.

“But on a serious note I am looking forward to coming to the city and bringing a show I loved doing in Edinburgh to the theatre.”

Tickets for the show which starts at 7.45pm cost £12 and can be booked by calling 01245 606505 or by visiting www.chelmsford.gov.uk/theatres.
