Bach's St John Passion will be performed at St Mary's Church, Maldon, on Good Friday.
The Choir of St Mary's and Pegasus Baroque Orchestra give their annual liturgical performance of this great work at 7.30pm.
Bishop of Chelmsford, Rt Rev Stephen Cottrell, will give a short homily between parts one and two and the congregation will be invited to join in with singing some of the hymns.
Last year, it was standing room only and early arrival is recommended to ensure a good seat.
