ONE of the Britain’s most decorated blues drummers brings his newly-formed band to Billericay.
Sam Kelly will perform Chicago and west coast style blues, with his Blues Band, at Blues at the Farm, at Barleylands Social Club, Barleylands Road, on Saturday.
Sam started his career in the early 1970s with Cymande.
Over the years he has worked with greats such as Robert Plant, Billy Ocean and Desmond Dekker.
He recently laid down rhythm tracks for Gary Moore’s latest album, and shortly after joined his band for a ten-date tour in Germany.
In 2002, Sam was elevated to Blues In Britain magazine’s Gallery of the Greats after winning the best UK drummer category five times.
Doors open from 1pm to 4pm, and entry is £5.50 for non-members and £5 for members.
