FREE apprenticeship information and advice drop-in sessions are available to young people and their parents in Basildon and Brentwood during the summer holidays.

The sessions, organised by Essex County Council’s Apprenticeship Promotion and Brokerage Hub, will help students aged 16-19 get access to a large number of high quality apprenticeships available in the local area.

Trained careers advisors will be on hand to help with CV writing, interview preparation and next steps advice.

Councillor Kevin Bentley, Cabinet Member for Economic Growth and Partnerships, said: “The competition for apprenticeships is very high so I encourage students to consider their post 16 and 18 options well ahead of their GCSE and A-level results day. These drop-in sessions will help students get ahead of the game by

getting their applications in front of employers now rather than waiting until after their results.”

The sessions will be held weekly at:

Brentwood Library, New Rd, Brentwood, CM14 4BP. These will take place on Tuesday, July 26 and further sessions including August 2, 9,16 and 23.

Basildon Youth Hub, 16-20 Southernhay, Basildon, SS141EL. Dates include Friday, July 22 and 29 and August 5, 12, 19 and 26.

All sessions run between 10am and 1pm.
