A MOTORIST has died following a serious crash in an Essex village, prompting a police investigation.
Emergency services were called to reports of a one-vehicle crash in Foxhall Road, Steeple, near Southminster, shortly after 4.30pm on Sunday.
The driver of the car, a man in his 30s, from St Lawrence, died at the scene despite the best efforts of paramedics.

A second man, a passenger in the motorist's silver BMW, remains in hospital with serious injuries.
The road was closed whilst officers carried out their investigation before it was reopened shortly after 10.30pm.
A spokesman from Essex Police said: "We continue to investigate the circumstances around the collision and we’re appealing for witnesses and anyone with dashcam footage of the incident or the moments leading up to it to get in touch.
